POLICIES (Reservations/Cancellation/Certifications/Insurance)

Trip Reservation/Booking policy*

Reservations to dive with WETSU Scuba Foundation (WSF) are currently arranged over the phone, through text, or email. All bookings whether require a valid credit card to be placed on file to secure the booking/reservation. We do NOT require a deposit. Payment for your booked trip is due the morning of the trip prior to departing the dock. We DO NOT pre-designate trip destinations on any dates where trip availability is indicated. Trips can be initiated and booked as FULL boat, Partial Boat, or a Single diver booking, and the person that initiates the trip sets the trip type.

Our boat carries a maximum of 6 divers. We require a FULL boat to run a trip. Booking a trip as an individual diver or a group of less than 6 divers is fine. However, the trip will not be CONFIRMED until all the seats for the scheduled trip are filled.

Trips that do not meet the FULL boat minimum 48 hours prior to the scheduled trip date may be canceled at the discretion of the Captain. Call or Text (910) 978-2782 or email info@wetsuscubafoundation.org for any booking related questions.

*Group Policy (Private group or Shop)

Applies when booking the entire boat. The group leader or dive shop is responsible for FULL payment. The group/shop is responsible for the FULL boat, 6 diver trip cost. The group/shop may elect to fill any number of seats for the trip up to the maximum of 6. Payment for the trip must be handled in a single transaction. The group leader is responsible for relaying all necessary information to the divers. IF a group has a diver cancel WSF may be able to fill the opened spot, but this is NOT guaranteed! Everyone in the group MUST meet the certification/experience requirements for the trip that is booked.

CANCELLATION policy*

WSF has a 7 day cancellation policy for all booked trips.

Group or Individual Reservations cancelled inside of the 7 days will reopened for the released spot/spots to be filled. If the spot isn't filled and the boat runs, you will be responsible for the cost of the trip! If you cannot make a trip you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible. If WSF cancels a trip for any reason, you are not responsible for any trip payment.

Weather in North Carolina can be unpredictable at times, ultimately it is the captain’s call on if we run and what dive site we go to. If a dive site is changed due to conditions the trip cost will be adjusted as necessary. The captain and crew reserve the right to refuse a diver from entering the water because of unsafe diving practices.

*Destination or trip change

If due to weather, unforeseen events, or an emergency requires the Captain to change the planned duration / number of dives or the day to be cut short you are still responsible for paying the FULL price of the scheduled trip. We highly recommend trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Passengers who fail to dive due to seasickness, gear failure, or any other reason are responsible for the price of the trip.

Certifications/ equipment

All divers are required to have the proper certification and experience for the dive they schedule. The captain and crew WILL review certification cards at the dock prior to departure. Please have your physical or Electronic certification card with you. All divers are responsible for bringing the necessary equipment and gear for a given dive trip. Weights are provided free of charge. We have soft weights only, if a diver requires a weight belt, the diver is responsible for bringing their weight belt and appropriate weights if the belt does not accommodate soft weights.

Diving Insurance

Due to the nature of the diving we do here in North Carolina we require ALL divers to verify that they have personal Dive Accident Insurance. Insurance should be through DAN or another insurance carrier that provides scuba diving specific insurance to divers.
